Artist Statement
I see my work as an exploration of various modes of abstraction. I'm interested in how applying a personal image vocabulary to various fabrication processes can proliferate new hybrid forms thus further developing this vocabulary. I'm curious about how the computer can inform craft based media. I enjoy the idea of using contemporary tools along with pre-industrial fabrication processes to produce work. I'm curious about what happens when fragments of various socio/cultural reference are assembled and how their cultural baggage can complicate the reading of implied narratives.
