Extremely Happy

On one of my trips to Italy - it was the year 2001-, I was working on a marble sculpture at a sculptor’s studio in Carrara, Italy.

At first I was so excited about my special piece of stone that I chiseled away until there the shape of  a sitting girl emerged.

Later that day I took a break and  read the local newspaper with friends; there was a story about a young women who had given birth to quintuplets!

When I went back to my piece of stone I found that she needed a transformation; now everybody around me is helping  me move the stone around - until I found the big stomach of a pregnant woman, previously hidden, but now released by remembering the story of the quintuplets…..

…..and “More Than Happy” was born!
