About

Ginger Williams is a Jackson, MS, native and current resident. She graduated from William Carey College on the Coast with a BFA in painting and drawing. Aside from painting, Ginger teaches art  at the Mississippi Museum of Art’s Kaleidoscope summer program.

Figurative renderings dominate her subject matter. It is rare when a painting does not consist of a figure. But it is hardly a narrow category. She creates abstract figurative work, expressive and representational portraiture, and highly stylized caricatures. The themes always vary and she feels that there is nothing more captivating and complex as the human form and psyche. In the past few months, her dominant medium has been oil paint and canvas, but also produces nude figure line drawings on thick paper and graphite, with gouache.
